Strengthening the rural Health Infrastructure towards better access to primary healthcare
Savita Devi, an Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) serving at the Sub Center in Hiramanpur, Pindra, Varanasi, has faced numerous challenges throughout her career. One of the most significant obstacles, she encountered had been the lack of advanced medical equipment and necessary infrastructure for attending maternity cases. Insufficient facilities at the sub-centre hindered her ability to provide essential care to expecting mothers and new-borns, often resulting in the need for costly referrals to nearby hospitals.
However, a positive transformation happened when Utkarsh Welfare Foundation stepped in, to support the sub-centre with health infrastructure. The Foundation provided advanced medical equipment and necessary facilities specifically designed for managing maternity cases, making a remarkable impact on the community.
Since receiving this support, the treatment of maternity and delivery cases has been significantly streamlined. Savita and her team have now access to indispensable equipment and facilities, enabling them to save numerous lives by handling complex scenarios. Previously, as she says that unfortunate casualties were regrettably common, but now she thanks to Utkarsh Welfare Foundation, that such incidents have significantly reduced.
Savita extends her deep gratitude to the Foundation for its invaluable support. The contribution has empowered her to offer enhanced healthcare services to the community.
