Enabling Women Entrepreneurship through Skill Training & Start-Up Support

Ruchika, a young and determined entrepreneur hailing from Sult, Almora, Uttarakhand, always had a passion for the world of beauty and makeup. However, financial constraints initially hindered her from pursuing her aspirations. Fortunately, her life took a positive turn when she received support from  Utkarsh Welfare Foundation through its Women Entrepreneurship Development Program.

Being selected for the program, Ruchika underwent an intensive 45-days' beautician training, provided by the Foundation. This transformative experience had equipped her with the necessary skills and knowledge to establish her own business. As part of the program, she was also provided with a comprehensive beautician kit as a hand holding support, eliminating the financial burden of acquiring the necessary tools at her own.

Setting up her business in Jalikhan market at Sult, Ruchika has gained success over the past few months. Serving an average of 5-10 customers daily, she started earning a monthly income of approximately ₹15,000. During the wedding season, her business experienced a notable surge in flow of customers & her earnings, as she received bookings for bridal makeup, surpassing her average income. Ruchika expresses her sincere gratitude to  Utkarsh Welfare Foundation for their unwavering support, which enabled her to pursue her dreams.

With determination and unwavering dedication, Ruchika aims to establish a prominent reputation for herself in this sector. She aspires to serve as an inspiration to other young girls who aspire for similar ambitions. Alongside her family, she expresses heartfelt appreciation for the valuable opportunity provided and is committed for taking her business to new heights in the future.
